Plot Summary:
An out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When God loses faith in humankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity's only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner with the Archangel Michael (Bettany).
Our civilization is turning into something that probably is even worse than hell. Endless wars, drugs, lies, sufferings, ignorance, sins, sins, sins... People here don't believe in God anymore. But no one even realizes that God doesn't put his trust in people too. Being disappointed and angry at people, God decides to exterminate his most notable creation. His archangels are about to come down to the world of humans and fully destroy everything we've ever known.
But Michael (Paul Bettany), the leader of the archangels' legions, still has faith in us, humans. So he betrays his father and comes from heaven earlier than the legion. But his goal is not to warn us about what's coming. He is going to a gas station that is located in the middle of a desert to save the Child. The Child is about to born, and if he stays alive, there is a chance that the world will survive.
