Claudio, a construction worker, works on a site in the suburbs of Rome. He is madly in love with his wife who is pregnant with their third child. In a rage for life, Claudio energetically fights against the injustice that fell upon him. November 2003. Aureliano, a twenty-eight-year-old anarchist and anti-war activist, gets an offer to fly to Iraq to be an Assistant Director on a film about the Italian military "peace mission". Despite criticism from his friends and family, Aureliano heads off on the journey. Soon, he finds himself in the foreign world of the military.
