Many myths surround the ancient island of Cheung Chau. Locals believe that a Water Deity watches over the island, taking the form of a handsome youth. One islander, Gill, claims to have encountered him during her suicide attempt after being dumped by her boyfriend. Gill is convinced that she has been given special powers after being rescued. Afraid that she is suffering from head trauma, her loyal friends Jade, Blossom and Mini-Blossom reluctantly play along with her fantasy. Believing in winning the forthcoming swim meet against her romantic rival Fay will also win her boyfriend back, Gill kidnaps champion swimmer Chi to train her from barely able to swim to master the art of competitive swimming. She imprisons him in the home of eccentric islander Harley. With no release in sight, Chi unwillingly starts to train Gill and her friends. Using unconventional methods, Chi soon boosts Gill’s confidence, and at the same time, the two start to fall for each other. The day of the swim meet comes; the Gill’s team is trailing far behind in the race. Suddenly the Water Deity manifests itself in front of Gill. Will divine intervention help her win the swim competition, overcome her insecurities and find true love?

Sunny (Aaron Kwok) is a clown in a circus act but he aspires to be a top performer just like his dad, The King of Flying Knife. While in Malaysia, Sunny and a few of his circus performer friends go for a treasure hunt, stumbling upon barrels of bio-chemicals left from the war. Upon returning, some of the members are mutating due to inhaling the bio-chemicals but Sunny seems fine from the exposure. They gain extraordinary superhuman powers. The leader of the entertainment outfit Chang Tai Chu (Colin Chou) decides to use this newfound strength to do evil. As there is an increase of crime in the city, the media and the police get involved. Kungfu master Suan Hou (Wu Jing) and policewoman Xin Hua (Zhang Jin Chu) enter the fray, while Angel (Shu Qi), a reporter who is recently demoted, also pursues the case in hopes of rescuing her flagging career.

Vampire Warriors follows the uneasy friendship between vampire hunter Ar (Jiang Lu-Xia) and a family of "vegetarian" vampires, including Max (Chrissie Chau) and her womanizing father Lung (Chin Siu-Ho). Ar spends her days walking around hunting down bad vampires, while Max and her good vampire friends hang around town aimlessly, complaining about how bored they are. That all changes with the arrival of Mung (Yuen Wah), a vampire kills other vampires to make himself more powerful (aren't they always?).
