Michael Velayudham is a chef who loves life and women. Meera is a fun loving open minded girl. Both of them meet in Cape Town, South Africa, start dating and eventually fall in love. Senapati, a local restaurateur, who has witnessed their relationship, refuses to let Michael give up on Meera. He tells Michael the story of his friend Arjun Palwai, who did everything in his power to win the one true love of his life, Vasumathi. The story continues as it shows the parallels and differences in the two love stories, set in different times and places, and how despite the many obstacles it faces, love always prevails

Nandini (Karisma Kapoor) is a delicate young girl raised like a princess in Canada by her two doting uncles. She finds her ideal man in Shekhar (Sanjay Kapoor) whom she marries regardless of his family background. Soon, Nandini gives birth to a son, Raja. Things take a sudden turn after Shekhar visits his native village in India to see his ailing mother. Nandini and Raja accompany him. The harsh realities of impoverished India strike Nandini and Raja as they undergo a long, roughshod journey through the countryside to finally arrive in a fortress-like haveli in Shekhar's native village. But Nandini's misery is far from over. While she gets a heart-warming reception from her mother-in-law (Dipti Naval), her tyrannical father-in-law Narsimha (Nana Patekar) refuses to accept a modern girl as his bahu. However, Narsimha wants to take his grandson Raja under his wing. Nandini takes stoically Narsimha's insults and his attempt to separate Raja from her. Her only hope is to return to Canada one day with Shekhar and Raja. Little does she know that the day she so much longs for will never come and she will have to fight her father-in-law's hegemony alone? Rest of the film shows Nadini's transition from a vulnerable girl to an audacious mother who is willing to kill to save her only son!

Balu (Manoj) aspires to become a big singer and he reachs Hyderabad from Bhadrachalam. His parents (Tanikella Bharani and Sudha) keep high hopes on him. Sravya (Tapsee) is the daughter of a millionaire in the US and she reaches India to do a research on the traditional Telugu music, which includes the folk songs and rural songs. She stays with Captain Rao, a friend of her father (Suman). Sravya and Balu become good friends during her preparation of a documentary and soon love blossoms between them. However, Captain Rao, who is against love, decides to separate them, When he got an opportunity to take part in the contest, Rao turns a hurdle in Balu’s career. Rao gives an option to choose between love and music and Balu chooses music as he lives and ready to die for music. So, Balu refuses Sravya, when she proposes him. However, he doesn’t want to lose Sravya as well and wanted to make it a reality through Rao himself. Did Balu succeeds in completing his challenge to become a big singer and return to the village? What happened to Balu’s love? How Balu convinces Rao to accept his love? What was the reaction of Sravya’s father on their love?
